ONU:
Many of us do not know the full meaning of ONU and how it works. The full meaning of ONU is Optical Network Unit. It is usually the Access Network of FTTH Connection. Simply put, it is one of the most important devices at the user end. Remember that those who use only FTTH i.e. Fiber to the home connection have this ONU device at home.
How does ONU work?
It basically works as a like converter. It receives the light signal from the ISP end and converts it into an electronic signal and receives the electronic signal from the user end and converts it into a light signal and sends it to the ISP end.
ONU Firmware:
ONU like Wi-Fi Router has a firmware and you can log in to that firmware if you want. By logging in there you can change the settings as needed and adjust everything. The most important thing is what kind of laser is coming from your ISP end, that is, if you want to know what kind of db loss there is in that laser, you can see it by logging into the ONU.
ONU Login:
First of all, to log in to the ONU device, the ONU must be powered, then an Ethernet cable (RJ45) is required. One side of the Ethernet cable should be plugged into the LAN port of the ONU and the opposite side should be plugged into the Ethernet port of the PC. Each ONU device has an IP address such as 192.168.1.1, then the IP address of the Ethernet port of the PC must be changed and an IP address of the same block must be assigned. Only the IP address and Subnet should be given on the PC's ethernet-like,
IP Address: 192.168.1.101
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

On the back side of each ONU is the information to log in to the ONU. Their IP Address, Login username, and password, Mac address, etc. are given. See the picture below to understand.
Then open a browser from your PC to log into ONU. Then hit the search bar with the IP address of the ONU and click on log in with the username and password, then the firmware of the ONU will be logged.
