Finally today we will talk about the Cudy M1300. We will know about its 2 packs. Best of all, it's incredibly cheap. Anyway, we will know about the price a little later.
Before that, you will get 2 more package variants of it in the market. One is a single pack and the other is a 3 pack.
Mesh Wi-Fi:
It is a mesh WiFi system of Wifi 5 standard. Which is the AC1200 series and the most exciting thing is that it is a dual-band router. I will suggest this router to those who want to bring more or less 3000sqFt or a thick area or an entire flat or office under WiFi. It can be qualitative for you.
In this article, we will know what accessories are included with the router in the box and try to know what kind of software and hardware this device will provide you. Moreover, we will also know how much of its WiFi Range we are getting.
Accessories:
Upon unboxing the box you will first see 2 units. 2 units are supplied with 2 power adapters of 12V 1Ah and a large RJ45 patch cord. You will also get a user manual.
Mesh Wi-Fi Unit Review:
Except for Cudy, all mesh WiFi routers you will see will be of the round shape. All are pure white, but the units vary in weight. For example, M1800 is the heaviest unit of WiFi 6 standard, then M1300, then M1200 is the lightest. In addition, the ports and buttons of each unit are the same, And you will see 1 beautiful light indicator in front of each unit.
On the opposite side of the light indicator are the ports and buttons. The topmost button is the sync button. You need to use this sync button when you want to sync one unit with another unit, that is when you want to peer 2 units. Below the sync button is a reset button. If you need to reset the router, just click and hold it for a while and it will reset.
Then there are 2 Ethernet ports below. The port that has 2 written in them is the WAN Port. The cable from the ISP should be attached to it. And the port written 1 is LAN Port. Through this, you can connect to a PC laptop or similar devices. These ports are Gigabit ports. And gigabit means 1000Mbps. Finally, there is a power adapter port below, in which the DC port of the power adapter should be installed.
Basically, such devices which are of mesh type, are the user's preference for WiFi. And if we come to the LAN ports, then they must be Gigabit. Because in the case of gaming or between your PC to Router, the accurate connectivity is Wider Connectivity, but you will get more gigabit ports in comparison to the 10 by 100 WAN Port.
It can be seen that there are many models in the market, whether the port is 10 by 100. Although these are not completely useless, gigabit LAN ports provide great facilities for those who play games. For example, from a router to a PC or from a PC to a router, comparatively wider connectivity can be maintained. As a result, the response time and latency will be at a minimum level.
Response Time & Latency:
If Response Time and Latency are to be minimized then the router has to do some more work. Such as timely device management and accurate data flow and data processing. A dual-core CPU is used in this router which will do these tasks. It has 16 MB Flash Memory and 128 MB RAM.
Mesh Feature:
Now let's come to WiFi. First, let's say that the mesh feature provided in this router is a WiFi feature, and what this feature usually does is arrange for many mesh units to come together and connect to each other, and that is through WiFi.
What is the benefit of device syncing?
Now it is said that these devices will be connected to each other, what is the benefit of this connection? This will increase your WiFi range. Also, the load of device management that used to be on the unit will actually be distributed among many units. As a result, the processor of a unit does not have to do much work. This processing task is then divided among many units. As a result, the overall performance of the total network increases.
And since you're using multiple devices, and each unit has an individual range, all the units together can give you some area coverage. It also has several other features such as all the units together will keep you correct under one SSID. Those reception units will try to keep your device on its best signal.
That's why you will see your device keep shifting from one unit to another, which is actually called seamless rooming. Meaning no signal will drop during this shift and internet service will not drop. Even if a unit fails, it will work to ensure that your internet usage is uninterrupted. Which is again called Auto Healing.
Many of these individual features actually work combatively within this mesh. There should be no problem getting the signal in any corner of your house, and your speed should always be accurate, mesh technology actually works in some important places like this.
These cudy devices are not marked as either master or satellite. You can use whichever one you want as a master and whichever one you want as a satellite. Now let's say you have bought 2 pack router now you need one more unit then simply go to the market from there you can buy one of the single-pack or double pack then you have to sync with the rest of the unit.
Wireless Info:
Since this is a dual-band router, you will get 2 frequencies or 2 SSIDs from this router. One of them is 2.4GHz and the other is 5GHz. And the maximum theoretical bandwidth speed of 2.4GHz is 300Mbps and the maximum theoretical bandwidth speed of 5GHz is 867Mbps. As usual in AC1200 routers the bandwidth distribution among the frequencies is like this.
WiFi Speed Test:
I tested the throughput of the maximum bandwidth of this router. In-home conditions, I got a result of 127Mbps from the close of the router at 2.4GHz. This is 50% of the original bandwidth of this router. And the test result of 5GHz was 552Mbps on average. That seems good enough. Actually for one unit to handle 15-20 devices at this frequency. Also, you will get minimal latency.
Conclusion:
Unit 2 has been in use for several days and no problems have been found with the software. Let's see what happens in our time. Also, this router is missing WPA-3 security. Moreover, this router has Smart Connect Option, you can disable it if you want. So this was today's article. Please comment if there is any problem to understand.
