Today we will learn how to down the LAN port of an ONU from an OLT., Or if the LAN port of an ONU is down, we will know how to enable it. This system is available in all types of OLTs and some are not available in 3rd party OLTs. So today I am showing in BDCOM OLT how to disable or enable the LAN port of an ONU. So let's get started.
ONU LAN Port Shutdown:
We know that an EPON OLT has 64 ONU sub-interfaces per PON port. So we can have up to 64 ONUs on one PON port. ONUs are subinterfaces in OLT like 0/1:1. Here 0/1 is one number PON port and :1 is 1 number ONU. So we need to figure out which port we will disable the LAN port of ONU. Then the ONU should be taken out from that port and entered into the ONU. We assume that we will down the LAN port of the 1st PON Port of the 1st ONU.So first we need to log in to OLT. The complete command is given below.
