How do I Update my MikroTik Router Firmware

Hello, friends hope everyone is well. Today we will know something important. That is how we can upgrade the firmware of our MikroTik Router. It's very easy, but many people don't know how to upgrade MikroTik Router's OS.So let's get started.

Upgrade Firmware Automatic:

If you do Router Upgradation then you will get many new features. Also, if there are any bugs in the previous version, they will be filled in the new version. If your router's OS is OLD, then when you log in to your router with mobile, your router will notify you to update RouterOS. Generally, the Mikrotik router can be upgraded to 3-way. The 3 ways through which you can upgrade Mikrotik RouterOS are given below.

1. Winbox
2. Webfig
3. FTP
Today I will show you how to update Mikrotik RouterOS in the easiest way. I would recommend you use the Winbox method for a router upgrade. So first you need to log in to your Mikrotik router with a username & password. Then the router package should be upgraded. To upgrade the router package first go to System>Packages>Check For Updates>Download & Install. Then all the files will be downloaded. The automatic installation will be done when the download is finished. Finally, the router will take a reboot and after 4-5 minutes it will restart again. Finally, your router will be upgraded.

Upgrade Firmware Manually:

The above method was how to upgrade router firmware through automatic winbox. Now we will know how to upgrade the OS manually by downloading the firmware file of the router. To manually upgrade the firmware of the router, you need to visit the official website of Mikrotik. Then go to their Download Option and download the upgraded version of your router's OS. Then there will be a file in npk format that needs to be uploaded to the file section of the router. When the upload is finished, put the pointer on the file and click the right button of the mouse, many options will appear, and you can click on Restore. Then the router will ask for permission to reboot. You will grant permission with Yes. Then after 4-5 minutes, the router will open in the new version.
Or if you want, you can upgrade the firmware version of the router in another way. For that, you will normally log into your Mikrotik Router with a username and password. Then you need to go to system>Routerboard>Upgrade. If you don't understand then follow the picture below. Hopefully, your router's firmware version will be updated.
